Join us for the Standard Process 21-day Purification Program in January!

In this video, Dr. Pete gives a brief explanation of the program as well as introduces  shake flavor options.

The purification program is designed to give your digestive system the nutrients and rest that it needs to heal and improve function. You will eat healthy meals throughout program (it’s not a fast) and also take several Standard Process supplements to help your digestive system.

I will be participating again this year as I like to give my body a healthy reset to start the year.

We will have a kickoff class at Thrive on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 6:30 PM. At this class we will go over the details to insure your success.

We are taking orders now for the purification kits. The total cost for the program is $219 + tax. Chocolate and vanilla flavors are now available in addition to plain (unflavored). Email or call us to sign up and get started or to ask any questions.

You are also welcome to attend the class to learn more. We can order kits to ship to the office or directly to your house within a couple days should you decide to join us. If you are unable to attend the class, you may still participate. We have tips and advice we can email you so you can start on your own. If you wish to pick up your kit on Jan 3rd at the event, please have your order to us by December 18th.

Dates Chiropractic Office Will Be Closed

The chiropractic office will be closed Monday, December 24th through Wednesday, December 26th for Christmas. We will be open both morning and afternoon on Thursday the 27th and Friday the 28th.

We will closed Monday, December 31st and Tuesday, January 1st for New Year’s.

Introducing Personalized Nutrition Supplementation

Beginning in January 2019, I will begin offering a limited number of appointments for personalized nutrition and supplementation consults.

As you may notice in the office, we have an assortment of nutritional supplements for use with a wide variety of health issues, preventative measures, and performance boosts. These supplements can be selected at a typical chiropractic visit.

For those of you interested in a deeper look at nutrition changes and personalized supplement protocols, these new consult appointments are for you! Perhaps you are curious about:

  • non-pharmaceutical options for blood pressure issues or sugar metabolism
  • cholesterol and fats
  • whether your current multivitamin or supplements are of high quality
  • weight loss
  • adrenal function and fatigue
  • natural protocols for kids and adults with ADD/ADHD, anxiety or trouble sleeping
  • supplements for immune support during illness.

You will complete a ‘symptom survey form’ prior to the appointment and also supply me with a summary of your current diet and any supplements and medications. At the appointment, we will determine a nutrition and supplementation plan for your specific needs. The fee for this evaluation and consult is $100. We will begin these appointments in January 2019 on Thursdays prior to the normal adjusting hours at 2:30 PM. You can begin booking now!

Lighthouse Youth Services Gift Drive

Again this year, Thrive Chiropractic will be participating in a Holiday Gift Drive benefiting Lighthouse Youth Services.  Lighthouse offers  social services benefiting children in Southwest Ohio. They have the only 24/7 sanctuary for homeless, abused and abandoned youth in the area. Lighthouse Youth Services is the largest provider of foster care in Hamilton County and offers 19 different programs benefiting youth and young adults.

Above is a list of items Lighthouse needs. However the top 10 types of items most needed are: baby items, developmental toys/games, bed and bath linens, book bags and duffel bags, winter outerwear (all sizes), Dishes, cups and eating utensils, Headphones and Tablets, personal care products, socks and underwear (teens), Sweatshirt hoodies (all sizes).  You can also check out their Amazon Wish List

We will be collecting items now through 12/7/18.  The agency has requested the gifts be unwrapped. If you are unable to get the items to us by 12/7, we will continue collecting through 12/21 and get the additional items to Lighthouse for use in other programs or for next year.

Ben Greenfield Podcast: Childhood Vaccinations

In this episode, Ben talks to physician Dr. Tom Cowan about his new book Vaccines, Autoimmunity, and the Changing Nature of Childhood Illness.

Dr. Cowan is a board member of the Weston A Price Foundation which supports healthy food and farming initiatives. He is trained as a traditional medical doctor and yet has developed natural and non-pharmaceutical protocols to help his patients.

In this podcast, he and Ben discuss childhood illnesses, fevers, vaccinations, immune system function and more.

Of particular interest to me was the discussion about the cellular gel matrix and sodium potassium pump.

I am also reminded in this podcast that it is important to have a healthy respect and reverence for what we do not know with certainty about our bodies, our health, and how we may react to certain interventions like medications and vaccines.

Study: Effectiveness of Chiropractic Maintenance Care Versus Symptom Guided Treatment for Recurrent and Persistent Low Back Pain.

A recent study released in the Public Library of Science investigated the effectiveness of chiropractic maintenance care on patients with persistent low back pain. The study followed 328 patients with low back pain who found relief with early chiropractic care visits.

Maintenance care is proactive plan of treatment not only when symptoms flare up.

One group did not receive maintenance chiropractic care while the other group did. The people who received maintenance chiropractic care were found to have 12.8 fewer days of lower back pain than those who did not. The group receiving maintenance care also “improved faster and achieved the steady state phase earlier with a lower mean number of days with lower back pain per week”.
